Parking in Elmstead Woods & Susan Wood

Councillors have been working with residents in Elmstead Woods and Susan Wood to help ensure that they have the parking scheme which works for them.

The Council have undertaken a comprehensive review of the entire Elmstead Woods area and we have supported residents who had objected to proposals to remove a number of parking restrictions on Bennetts Copse, Clifford Avenue, Robin Hill Drive, Sylvester Avenue and Wood Drive. Our representations and have secured a number of positive changes, subject to the results of formal consultation.

Councillor Suraj Sharma said "a number residents have been in contact about the plans consulted by the council last year. We believe in putting the needs of Chislehurst residents first as opposed to encouraging commuter parking. We are looking forward to seeing the positive aspects of the scheme put in to place in the near future".

We have also managed to solve the issues faced by local businesses on Walden Parade by changing the timings of the restricted hours.

In Susan Wood, the newly installed double yellow lines will improve visibility and public safety at the junction of Susan Wood and Summer Hill, reducing the likelihood of collisions.
